Got a response from a Patriot News spokesperson

The Patriot News position is that PennLive and the Patriot are separate companies and the Patriot has nothing to do with PennLive forums. They referred me to someone at PennLive. I will follow up with them.

There has to be some other reason for this. Right now, I have apparently been banned altogether -I am unable to post anything on any forum. I guess that answers my question of whether they stand in solidarity with the Chinese government.

I can't post either. I can log in but when I preview, it's blank. Guess I'll just have to come up with another name.

Looks like Harrisburg Girl was banned, too. I did get a response from a reporter, and he said that you have to create a new email address as well as a new identity to get by the block, and that some people are actually "deleted on sights."

I just tried to post on PennLive and dicovered I have been banished with the rest of you. The post automatically erased itself, which leads me to ask...Do any of us really exist in cyberspace? Hah, it must be Friday, because I am waxing philosophical...Keep us updated on the quest for "free speech"!

Deleted on sight? Interesting. And quite ridiculous. But I can not get in so I guess I'll have to either make up a new log in and make a new email address for myself or just not post there.

Methinks I will just not post there.

We are quite a group, banned for asking about deleted posts, while others continue to post unfettered. Yes, the easy thing to do is to stop posting, but I hate to think that some stupid, ignorant censor at some second rate paper can escape scrutiny in this brave new world of ours.

I can't explain the other deletions, but perhaps the reason yesterday's posts were deleted were because they were ridiculous and repetetive (though to a lot of us, still funny.)

OMG. When you said, "second rate paper" I just realized why I was banned. I posted something yesterday about "don't you wonder why there's not a competitor paper in Harrisburg"....

Well, that's probably not why I was banned. But my understanding is that the company that owns the patriot has some kind of a contract that does not allow a competitor paper in the same city. Not sure if it's true or not, but don't ya' think it's kind of funny (funny "hmmmm" not funny "HAHA") that there is only one rag in Harrisburg, the STATE CAPITAL but there are two in York, Lancaster........

There were some anti-trust actions many years ago concerning papers and the lack of competition, but I don't remember the details. I'd have to check.

I just don't get it.

Jason Smith can call the mayor gay and accuse him of spooning Levenda but we can't post about posts being deleted? I'm beyond flabbergasted.

I guess jason has more influence with whoever the censor is than we do . . .

Interseting twist, you know. I mean, he's always the one shouting "CONSPIRACY!"

It really is interesting...

Maybe it is Jason.

God only knows at this point.

It don't make no sense.
