Latest deletions

Last night, Milton deleted a posting informing readers about the "Police academy," which is a Harrisburg Police Deparment initiative to train community members in how to prevent crime in their neighborhoods and to improve police relations with residents. Now, personally, I think the people attracted to that sort of thing (riding along with cops and so on) are largely busy bodies - but that's beside the point. Why would PennLive not want people in Harrisburg to know about this crime prevention program?

On the other hand, they have no trouble leaving up all the bad crime news - another shooting, etc

I don't get it either. Why would they delete that post? Makes no sense, but then again, Milton has no sense! As far as the Police Academy goes, I have attended and believe it or not, I attended because I utilize city services whenever possible. The Academy throughly explains what each of the Departments do and how they contribute to the City. There were representatives from Community Mediation, Parole,Dog Control,Codes, Detectives, School Patrol, and Traffic, to name a few. As far as the ride along, that's optional. Me, I declined. I'm not interested in seeing first hand how people abuse each other. Reality is just outside my front door, and that is close enough! I would recommend the Academy for those residents that want to be involved in their neighborhood. It really helps to know what resources are available to you.

And Milton took it down again! He also deleted my insult to him. In case you missed it (it was only up for about a hour or less)I called him an egghead! Which was quite appropriate since it is Easter and celebrated with eggs! BooHiss Milton....what a creep!

Yes, I saw the egghead comment. At least that one makes some sense to delete - sort of. But to delete again the information about the police training? That now seems to smack of an intent to stir up trouble in the streets - don't encourage cooperation with the police, but instead, stir up fear and anger.
