How to do development

I think I'm beating a dead horse, but after 20+ years of watching oh-so-slow development in Harrisburg, I can't help it. Here's what the web site for a new development in Savannah looks like. The virtual tour is incredible. Sure beats a static page with no updates . . . or architectural drawings for museums that never materialize.

So, what is actually happening with the Boutique hotel on 2nd, the PAL building, the African-American Museum on Verbeke and Third, etc. The only action I see is HACC.

I tyhink you're being a little too hasty with your critique. I saw a survey crew at the PAL building earlier this week, and I believe that they are awaiting the construction of the new garage before renovating the boutique hotel. Your blog is an interesting perspective, but it is much too focused on the negative.

I hope you are correct. I've seen people coming and going to PAL, too. What I don't see yet is a transfer of the real estate from Harrisburg to the partnership . . . I guess when I see that actually take place, I'll believe something may happen.

My "negative" view is based on 23 years observation. I've lived through at least 3 announced plans for the PAL building, plus another 3 for the Furlow Building. Notice that both are still an eyesore.
