I second that the Mayor has nothing to do with this. It is true, he has no computer. Now, I do think that someone on staff at least reads letters to the editor - but not PennLive forums. Seems very unlikely
Yeah I've been deleted just for asking why posts were deleted. It's becoming a worthless forum where anything and everything is there one day, and gone the next.
I've done a cursory study of the other Advance.net forum sites and noticed that their censorship is significantly less than on PennLive...at least based upon the fewer post number gaps. Does that indicate something is amiss locally?
Perhaps if we question higher management at Conde Nast about this they could offer some insight.
